RE/MAX Ultimate marketing agent Garry Johnston said he had 10 groups through 62 Adelong Court at the first open home and by the end of the day the owners received four offers. The Burpengary-based agent said the home sold for “well above” the asking price of $500,000 to a family from Brisbane. Mr Johnston said he wasn’t surprised the property attracted so much interest. “It was a well-presented Queenslander, which are always popular, on a nice acreage setting,” he said. The classic Queenslander is almost 100 years old and was moved to its current address about 25 years ago.More from newsLand grab sees 12 Sandstone Lakes homesites sell in a week21 Jun 2020Tropical haven walking distance from the surf9 Oct 2019The three-bedroom home has character features, including VJ walls, timber floors and high ceilings, and is on a 0.8ha block.Mr Johnston said the sale of the home was yet another sign that the Morayfield market was performing well. “If properties are well-presented and priced right they’re going out the door,” he said. “We’re seeing all sorts of buyers, from investors to luxury home buyers. “Quite often they are people from outside the area.” Mr Johnston said buyers tended to look to Morayfield for its affordability and amenities. “Morayfield has good schools and plenty of shopping,” he said. “It’s close to the highways and there is lots of public transport easily available.”last_img
