first_img Comments Published on November 10, 2018 at 6:37 pm Contact Danny: dremerma@syr.edu | @DannyEmerman Grad student Dakota Derrer has been ruled out for the season with a lower-body injury, head coach Paul Flanagan announced on Saturday night after the 1-1 tie against Princeton.Derrer suffered the injury on Nov. 4 against Penn State. She played in 10 games and led the team in blocked shots with 25.“Dakota is done for the season,” Flanagan said. “And for the second time, she’s done for her career.”Derrer’s season was cut short last year when she suffered a concussion in the second game. Her symptoms were so intense she couldn’t leave her room for a month and was cleared to workout six months after sustaining the injury.
